Pretty in Pink

Today I kept my sweet baby "niece," Cecelia, for a few hours. Her mommy and daddy are both sick so I picked her up so they could rest for awhile. She is an absolute ANGEL!! I loved having her over and I think she loved it too! :)

life

Boy has life been crazy! I can't even remember everything that has happened since I last posted. School started. It's going okay as of now. This is definitely going to be one of those semesters that is just awful. Chemistry+Math+Economics=a recipe for STRESS! But, I WILL survive!

Here is my sweet friend Miranda. I am SO glad she moved down here! She is an absolute blast to be around and I absolutely love her to death! I am so excited about tomorrow night because I am going to her house and her mom is cooking dinner for us! I can't wait! :)

Tonight, I am going to my friend Samantha's for dinner! I'm so excited about that too! She is so much fun! We usually have dinner together about once a month and we haven't since before Christmas! So we a A LOT to catch up on! :)

Well, I'd better go and do some reading before class. :/ I'd honestly rather just lay in bed, but considering that I slept from 6pm last night until 7am this morning, I should probably get up and be productive! lol I already went to my strength training class--a killer, especially at 8am! But I really think it will be fun and get me motivated to actually work out like I should! But for now, I need to read Economics.

Have a blessed day!!

Tonight I went and spent the evening with my best friend. She cooked me some yummy stir fry. Then we went to the most amazing frozen yogurt place in town, Spoons! We WERE being healthy until we went back to her condo and made cookies! I am so glad I got to spend some time with her before school starts! I had so much fun! I love her!

She was excited about Spoons!

And I was excited about using my Garmin! lol

Thankful

So, awhile back, when Bro. Tim Pixler was here, he said it would be a good thing to write down something we are thankful for everyday. I've decided that I'm going to try and post once a week, something I am thankful for everyday. I am so blessed to be living for God and am so thankful for His many blessings! I don't want to take them for granted!
Here are my "thankfuls" for last week and this week.
I am thankful for:
  • My family
  • Friends
  • My AWESOME church
  • A pastor that preaches the TRUTH and doesn't hold back!
  • The Holy Ghost
  • Education opportunities
  • Health
  • A job
  • Mercy
  • Grace
  • Food
  • Transportation
  • Protection
God is so good and I never want to take His blessings in my life for granted! What are you thankful for? :)

To be clay in His hands...

Friday night at youth service, Bro. Kevin talked about letting God use us. It was perfect and exactly what I needed to hear. It was kind of ironic because in my last post I talked about how I wanted God to use me this year. Then I went to youth service and he talked about the same thing. God really knows what you need to hear, and when you need to hear it! It's amazing! Bro. Kevin talked about how we were made from clay. Clay has no shape or form and is useless. But with a potter, it can become the most beautiful piece of art you have ever seen. God takes each one of us and shapes us and molds us into a beautiful piece of work. I am so thankful I have THE Master Potter! He talked about poor clay and its qualities. Poor clay is inconsistent and resists the potters hands. If we are not careful and don't allow God to work in our life, we can resist the Potters hands. We have to pray each day for God to take the inconsistencies out of our heart. Good clay, on the other hand, is consistent and responsive. I pray that I am consistent and responsive in my walk with God. I want Him to shape me and mold me into what HE wants me to be.
"15Woe unto them that seek deep to hide their counsel from the Lord, and their works are in the dark, and they say, Who seeth us? and who knoweth us 16Surely your turning of things upside down shall be esteemed as the potter's clay: for shall the work say of him that made it, He made me not?or shall the thing framed say of him that framed it, He had no understanding?" -Isaiah 28:15-16
A great reminder of how we can be used of God, is this simple acronym:
Unsustained by our culture
Stretchable
Adhere to Jesus
Be bold in your witness
Love
Equipped of the scriptures

I want to be USABLE!!

Resolutions

It's the new year! This means time for the one thing everyone does every year, but never keeps--a new years resolution. Last year my resolution was to read the Bible through in a year. I am ashamed to say that it didn't last very long and I didn't complete it. So, this year, instead of making reading the Bible through my goal, I am making my goal to at least read my Bible everyday. I want to have a closer walk with God. I'm not perfect, I'm human. But I want to be used of God in mighty ways this year. I believe that God has great things in store for me this year. I just want to be open to His will and not let it pass me by. A scripture, my favorite, comes to mind: "I can do ALL things through Christ who strengthens me." -Philippians 4:13 This scripture reminds me that God is in control and ALL things are possible with Him! I am so very excited about what God is doing in Bryan United Pentecostal Church! We have been having some amazing services! We are in the midst of revival, and this town is about to be set on FIRE! I believe it, in Jesus name! Great things are happening here! And I am just so excited that I am living for God! There is NO other place I'd rather be than in His presence! It truly is the most beautiful thing. I am so very blessed!
Have a blessed day! :)
